SUNDAY
SCHOOL NEWSLETTER![]() 05/01/2008
The Final Three Weeks of Sunday School Instead of learning about one story from the Bible during the last three weeks of Sunday school, the kids will be doing several different activities. On May 4, all the classes will be putting together Foster Care Welcome Bags. This will be the second time this year that the kids have put together bags for kids who are going into foster care. In December, the Sunday school kids had collected enough money through their offering and donations for the bags to make 12 Welcome Bags! This time the Sunday school kids have brought in even more offering and more donations so that they will be putting together 14 Welcome Bags!!! The kids have enjoyed helping others in the community through this effort! On May 11 the Sunday school kids will be playing games to review all that they have learned this year in Sunday school. The preschoolers through 2nd graders will play a “match the picture to the story” game. The 3rd through 6th graders will be playing Family Feud to review the stories they have learned this year. The last Sunday of Sunday school, May 18, the kids will be learning about how God wants us to obey our parents. At the end of the class time, they will have an ice cream sundae snack to celebrate all that they have learned throughout the Sunday school year! |

| Rekindle your Awareness of God’s Loving
Purpose for Giving……. In the next few weeks, you should be receiving some important information in the mail regarding the 2008 stewardship program. The stewardship team cordially invites you to participate in mid-week Bible study sessions and other activities geared toward helping you to evaluate how God’s gift of grace relates to your stewardship commitment. As you may already be aware (especially if you attended the April 13th budget meeting and the April 20th congregational meeting), our church is faced with many financial challenges. However, that is just one segment of the stewardship commitment. The stewardship sessions will shed light on some areas of the Christian response to God’s love as we faithfully commit our time, talent and our treasure. All of these things were never ours to begin with…..they were always God’s. When we share these gifts with others, we are only giving back in some small measure what God has given us. At what age does giving start? It’s probably different for each individual, but you can learn more about it at almost any age. The 2008 stewardship program consists of lesson plans for all age groups to be used during midweek soup/study session. It is intended to be used for family activities that can be done at midweek sessions and/or can be part of Christian education in the home. | Adam & Eve/Creation All the kids learned about the story of creation and also the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The preschoolers and kindergarteners spent more time learning about creation and learning that God made them too. The 1st graders through 6th graders also spent some time learning about he temptation part of the Adam and Eve story. As always the kids learned about the stories through games, crafts and snacks. |
