Dear Friends,

Once again, we come to this very special time of the year in which we celebrate and appreciate the birth of Jesus Christ. In this season, we do our best to reach out and be a blessing to our families, as well as others who mean a lot to us.

We, the Church Council, would like to extend an invitation to the congregation of Faith Lutheran Church to show our love and appreciation to Pastor Ebassa and our Staff who continue to serve us so faithfully, and go “above and beyond” in so many ways to be a blessing to us.

If you've ever wondered who the folks are that support Pastor, this church and Preschool, here are a few of the names of those hard-working people: Jean Whisman, Preschool Director, (and her talented teachers and assistants), Jolene Hessler, Office Admin, Sheila Stone, Bookkeeper, Shannon Fielding, Children and Family Ministry Director (Gretchen Lozano, her Coordinator), Kevin Williams, Youth Pastor, Jennifer Berrera, Music Director, and the Nursery Staff.

The Bible says; 1 Timothy 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine.

If you read further in that portion of scripture, you will see that the context is indeed referring to financial blessings as it also shares the thought; “the laborer is worthy of his wages.”

We live in such a challenging world today and have seen a tremendous spiritual attack on those who would preach the Word of God in fullness and authority. Not only is it important that we encourage our leadership in our giving, but we believe it is also vital that we continue to lift them up in prayer on a daily basis as they go about their duties.

Christmas is such a wonderful time to be a blessing, so we want to be sure to encourage this to indeed take place, especially at this time.

On Sunday, December 9th, in our morning services, we will be receiving a special love offering for this purpose. In the bulletin, there is a giving envelope. Just check the Special Offering box and specify for Pastor and Staff Gifts. Yes, we will still receive our regular offering, so this will go “above and beyond” in the area of giving.

Also, it would be nice if you would be able to send a note of encouragement either in a card, e-mail, or perhaps just a text of how much you appreciate their ministry.

Thank you so much and may God bless you and your loved ones during this Christmas Season!

Blessings in Christ,

Your Church Council
