Friends of Faith,

I am inviting the congregation to a time of prayer and fasting this Saturday, November 3rd. As preparation, I am sending daily emails with Bible verses to help us strategically pray throughout the week.

Today our prayer will be focused on seeking the presence of God. The book of James (chapter 4) gives us a guide on how to approach God in prayer.  First, we must repent of our sins, then resist the enemy believing he will flee, and finally, draw close to God and He will draw close to us.

Our God is not a distant God or an absent Father, but rather one who pursues us intentionally with the purpose of wanting a relationship with us.  Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him/her (restore him/her), and he/she with Me” (Revelation 3:20). The God we worship desires to reveal Himself and draw close to us. Allow Him into your heart, feel his presence, and begin building an intimate relationship with Him.

Pray:

For revelation - Jeremiah 29:12-14

Desire His presence - Exodus 33:14-21

Seek Him more than anything else - Matthew 6:33

Ask God to create a hunger in you for Him - Psalm 42:1-2; Psalm 63:1

Seek His strength - 1 Chronicles 16:11

In Him,

Pastor Ebassa
