The Children & Youth of Faith
At Faith Lutheran Church, we strive to create a welcoming and nurturing environment for children where they not only have fun, but also learn about Jesus and build meaningful relationships with both their peers and adult mentors. Our goal is to support parents in their role as primary spiritual guides for their children, and we view our ministry as a partnership with families rather than a replacement for parental involvement. We are confident that your children will enjoy their time with us and that we will have the privilege of caring for them in a way that reflects the love and grace of Jesus.
Our first and highest priority is every child’s safety.
- Every volunteer undergoes to a thorough background check.
- We train and orient volunteers about safety and security protocols.
We also aim to work alongside parents to help instruct their children in matters of faith. Our curriculum includes interactive lessons, Bible verses, fun songs, games, and crafts. Our volunteer Sunday School teachers strive to show children how special they are, that God loves them, and that He has a unique plan for their lives.

Middle School Ages
Confirmation Class
Sunday Mornings @ 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran
Confirmation is a process of affirming one’s baptismal promises. It provides an opportunity for individuals to confirm the promises that were made for them by their parents, sponsors, and congregation at the time of their baptism. During baptism, parents make a pledge to “live among God’s faithful people, bring their children to the word of God and the Holy Supper, teach them the Lord’s Prayer, the Apostle’s Creed, and the Ten Commandments, place the Holy Scriptures in their hands, nurture them in faith and prayer, so that they may learn to trust God, proclaim Christ through word and deed, care for others and the world God made, and work for justice and peace.” In essence, Confirmation allows the students to affirm their commitment to Jesus Christ and the same promises made by their families and sponsors during their baptism.
The Confirmation Ministry program offers a two-year experience for youth to explore various faith-related sources, such as the Bible, the Creed, and the difficult questions regarding their faith. Our primary focus is on exploring faith, which leads to a better understanding and knowledge of it. The teaching approach for Confirmation will be interactive and based on learning experiences and activities. Furthermore, during the Lent season, our youth will have the opportunity to participate in a Mentor Ministry.
During the summer of their 8th-grade year, young people will participate in the Confirmation Worship, also known as the Affirmation of Baptism Worship. While we do have a list of activities for the Confirmation Ministry year, please know that we are committed to working with you to provide your child with the best possible faith formation experience. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Pastor Jennifer or Pastor Denton by calling the church office.
While Confirmation is a time-honored rite of passage in the Lutheran tradition, we treat Confirmation like the finish line when it is more like the starting gate.
Sunday School
Sunday Mornings @ 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran
Our Sunday School Class for Middle School students operates on weeks when our Confirmation Class is not meeting. This class focuses on working through a book of the Bible slowly in order to help students understand the meaning of the texts they are reading. Our Sunday school classes are lighthearted and often involve a fair amount of laughter.
Retreats
We have Fall and Spring retreats for our middle school students. These retreats are great opportunities for students to solidify relationships and have intense discussions about the confirmation materials from Sunday mornings. The tradition is to spend a night at YMCA of the Rockies either in Estes Park or Winter Park, both are great facilities with lots of activities. These weekends go quick and energy levels are high, but every year we see some amazing growth in students from a short weekend away.
High School
Our high school ministry is expanding with our students, and we strive to offer them diverse programming opportunities that cater to everyone in the community. We have established solid traditions that our students are proud of, but we also encourage them to create new ones and make memories every year.
We believe that students come to church to learn how to lead a meaningful life. As teenagers transition into adulthood, they have numerous questions, and we provide them with a safe space to have conversations, develop, and seek answers. Our goal is to help them discover their purpose in life, learn more about themselves, and understand what it means to follow Jesus today.
At our ministry, we welcome, accept, and celebrate students regardless of where they are in their faith journey. Just like Jesus, who invited people to follow him and learn along the way, we urge our students to follow in his footsteps by serving others. We hope that they will learn and grow through this experience, just like Jesus’ disciples.
In the book of Acts, the early church demonstrated the joy of being together in community. We believe that to create a strong community, we need to focus on three main pillars – eating together, praying together, and celebrating together. Building a community takes time and effort, but we have found that these elements lay a solid foundation. We invite you to join us for an event or meal anytime.

Events & Retreats
During the Summer, we will meet up and go to Elitch Gardens, go hiking, and go play tennis, pickleball, and more! This is a great opportunity for students to spend time together outside of the church and create more memories together.
