Our mission statement stems from the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
In the Great Commandment, the Lord Jesus says:
And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37-39 NASB)
In the Great Commission, the Lord Jesus says:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NASB)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NASB)
Hence our mission statement;
We strive to love God by making Him the priority in everything that we do (Matthew 6:33). This means that as a congregation, every decision – minor and major – is decided through the leading of the Holy Spirit. God has the final “say so” in everything that we do; He is at the center of the life and ministry of Faith Lutheran Church. In addition, we strive to obey God (John 14:15, 21), the Bible is our guide.
LOVING EACH OTHER
We strive to love each other as Jesus loves us. This means that we take a genuine interest in each other’s lives and work on building an authentic community where people feel loved, accepted, and valued. We love each other by using our spiritual gifts to serve one another; we believe all have been gifted with a spiritual gift for the purpose of building up others (1 Corinthians 12).
SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
Our definition of a community is both local and global. We believe God has called us to be His hands and feet in the world; we have a heart for the nations. Jesus said to His disciples, “but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NASB). We take these words of Jesus seriously as we strive to serve Castle Rock and the surrounding towns in our outreach ministry through the preschool, offering Financial Peace University, Divorce Care, Grief Share, Marriage seminars, and opening our facility to our community.
Through the Benevolence Ministry, we partner with local organizations such as Help and Hope Center, Catholic Charities of Colorado, Flagstone Elementary School, and Sox Place. We also aim to serve the world community by partnering with the Tarkanfi Organization in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe Mission Partnership, Every Nation in England, and World Help in Guatemala. We are passionate about standing for the voiceless in human trafficking as we support Restore Innocence, Love2Hope, and Shared Hope International.
