Kathy McCurdy
Assistant Director & Jr. Kindergarten Teacher
I have been a part of Faith Lutheran Preschool since 2020. I am a Colorado native and live two houses down from where I grew up, so I have not ventured very far! My husband Rodney and I have been married since 2000 and have three amazing adult kiddos, Michael, Samantha, and Marcus. In my spare time, I love to garden, cook, play games, and travel.
I have been teaching Early Childhood Education for over 28 years, with a few breaks to stay at home with my own children. I hold my Directors Certificate and assist Ms. Jean in the morning in the office Monday-Friday mornings as well as teach in our Jr. Kindergarten Gold class in the afternoons. Teaching early childhood education is my true passion and calling. I love to support and serve each child’s and family’s journey through this amazing time in life. You will often see me singing and dancing or down on the ground in the child’s world! I feel that each child is unique, amazing, and a true blessing!

In January of 2023, we welcomed our first child and are loving parenthood! I have always had a passion for working with children, as a Sunday school leader/teacher in early childhood, and as a youth leader.
I love being able to grow alongside the students not only physically, mentally and emotionally, but also spiritually! I also love being able to incorporate my love for the Lord in my teaching!

Carrie Bunnell
Preschool Teacher
I grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Colorado in 2005 after getting married. My husband’s family moved here when he was 2, so it was coming home for him. We have 3 beautiful, lovely, and smart kids. We welcomed our oldest son in 2012 and our boy/girl twins in 2013. I have been with FLP since January 2022. I have worked with kids most of my life. Teaching at church and vacation Bible school and doing a lot of babysitting when I was younger, I also worked in a daycare through high school. I was a nanny in college, after some time in the corporate world and then being a stay-at-home mom, I went back to a daycare when my twins turned 1. I teach Bible class and children’s worship at our church and was active in MoPs. I love working with kids and always gravitate to it, getting to experience the joy of learning something new with them is the best! My kids are involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities, so I spend a lot of time in my car driving them around. When I get a moment for me, I like to garden, cook, craft, read, swim, fish, and to just be still outside.

I have lived in Colorado my whole life and moved from Western Colorado to the Front Range in 2018. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Colorado Christian University and a background in Special Education. After teaching for one year, we welcomed our first daughter, and I realized my calling was to be a stay at home mom. My husband, Chris and I now have three children (12, 10, and 8) who keep us very busy. Our son and youngest daughter both attended FLP for two years. I am blessed to be part of the wonderful team of teachers and staff at Faith Lutheran for my fourth year! I enjoy family adventures, shopping, coffee, reading books, live theatre, 80s music, and spending time with friends.
When I’m not teaching or being a mama, you can find me alone at Target with a Starbucks in hand.
