Rather than being a place where people far from God are met with shame, guilt, and condemnation, Jesus leads us to be a family that extends His grace, mercy, and forgiveness to everyone. No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have, we want you to be a part of the family.

Faith Lutheran began as an idea in 1976 by a few members of Holy Trinity Church in Littleton, Colorado, who had moved out of the suburbs to the “open countryside” of Douglas County and wanted a non-Missouri Synod Lutheran church within a half-hour drive. They began worshipping on Sunday afternoons at St. Philip in the Field Episcopal Church on Perry Park Highway, utilizing Holy Trinity Church interns and supply preachers.

By 1983 the American Lutheran Church (ALC) had heard their pleas and sent a mission developer, Rev. Dwight Stensgaard, who was serving at Grace Lutheran in Englewood, Colorado.

In 1984, the church received its charter from the ALC.

The Church moved to its present location at 303 Ridge Road in 1987, on the eastern ridgeline overlooking the Town of Castle Rock.

A new sanctuary addition was completed in 1993.

A preschool program was established in 1996, operating out of a member’s home until 1997, when the area beneath the new sanctuary was finished for educational space.  Rev. Stensgaard accepted a call to another congregation in spring of 1995 and Rev. Michael Knauff accepted a call as Senior Pastor in the fall of 1997.

In September of 2011 Pastor Ebassa Berhanu accepted a call as Assistant Pastor; he became the Senior Pastor July of 2013.
